Album Cover Project (#1)
Report:
I created this album cover using the song, "Love is The Drug," by Roxy Music. I used publisher to edit the photos by adding filters, and merging the pictures to make it look like a whole. On the front f the album cover I first added the background and made it bigger to cover the bench and to keep the city lights in the background. I used the lasso tool to cut out the silhouette of a couple and added that on top of the background. I also had to make the couple bigger to make it look like they were the focus of the picture. I used the lasso tool again to also cut out the heart. I put the heart in the center of the couple to represent the love they share. Lastly, I merged the pictures together to make it a whole, and added a filter. Then I saved it as a JPEG. For the back of the album cover, I chose my background and added it to a blank sheet on Photoshop. I changed the size of the picture o that it would fit the page and look clear. I then used the lasso tool to cut out the picture of the couple with the heart behind them. I added that to the picture and centered it. I merged the picture together and made it black and white. I then added text to the picture and made the lyrics red. When I finished the lyrics I created my own logo and added it into the bottom of the back of the album cover. lastly, I added in a copyright sign and a bar code.
Album Cover #2
Report:
I created this album cover using the song "Seeing Blind" by Niall Horan. This song is about falling in love with someone you'd never expect. For this album cover we were allowed to use pictures of the artist, unlike the first album, but I did not do so. The first thing i did was open a blank page (8x8) on Photoshop. On the front of the album cover I started with a picture of the sunset as my background. I had to resize it to fit the page and so that it didn't look distorted. I then cut out a picture of a couple looking at each other by using the magnetic lasso tool in Photoshop. Then I cut out pictures of the birds using the magnetic lasso tool. I also needed to duplicate many birds so that didn't have to keep cutting out more. I placed each bird around the couple in a shape of the heart. Throughout making this album, my friends helped me make a few decisions such as, fading the couple into the picture or leaving it as it is. Lastly, I added in the text at the top of the picture, "Seeing Blind." On the back of the album cover I also started with an 8x8 blank page. I cropped out another picture of a sunset to use as the background. I then typed out the lyrics to the song and changed the font to fit the page. I cropped out the picture of the bar code, resized it and then put it in the corner of the album. I also added a copyright symbol on the lower right hand corner which I also had to make a lot smaller. Lastly, I added in my record label symbol, "JM," and added a website at the bottom of the album cover. Once I finished the front and the back of the album covers, I saved them as JPEGs and put them on a tabloid sheet in Publisher and printed it out.
Celebrity Face
Report:
For this project we were told to take multiple pictures of celebrities and put them together to make a new face. On publisher I used a picture of Selena Gomez to start off. I then used the stamp tool to add the eye and hair of Taylor Swift. I also used the stamp tool to add Miley Cyrus's lips to her face. I used a different tool (color correcting tool/brush) to fix the edges around the images I added to the face. Once I finished, I saved the file as a JPEG, put it on publisher and printed it out.
"Pretend You Were There" Project
Report:
For this project we were supposed to take our face and put it on someone else's to make it look like we were there or we were them. I used the album cover of a Broadway musical that I love and I put my face on hers. Once I decided what I wanted to do, I used Mr. Adam's camera to take a picture of myself. I had to try to make my face be at the same angle that her face is at too. When I finished taking the photo I downloaded into the G drive and opened it into Photoshop. I opened the photo of myself and the album cover on Photoshop and I used the clone stamp tool to put my face over her face. When I finished doing that, I cleaned up the lines around my face using the healing brush tool. I also used another copy of the same picture and re stamped the hair to make it look more realistic. When I finished, I saved the file as a JPEG and posted it to this website.
T-Shirt Project:
Report:
For this project, we had to use Adobe Illustrator to draw/trace a picture of our "hero". First, I found a picture from Google of my hero (Sam Winchester). I placed it into illustrator and began by drawing the outline of his face with the pencil tool. I also used the eyedropper tool to make the color of his skin the same as the color of his skin in the original picture. Then, I drew the lines inside of his ears to define tem. Next, I drew the outline of his hair and I used the eyedropper tool again to make his hair color the same color that it is in the original picture. I drew the lines on his face (in between his eyebrows) and outlined his eyebrows. I also used the eye dropper tool for his eyebrows to make them the same color as his hair. When I finished the eyebrows I traced his eyes and made sure that you cam see the reflection in his eyes (the little white circle in the center). I continued to create his nose and his lips. After I finished his face, I moved on to making his shirt. I outlined the top layer of his shirt and used the eyedropper tool to make the shirt the color blue. I also added in some of the lights and darks that were seen on the picture. I then outlined the second layer of his shirt and made it red. Once I finished, I saved it to my desktop and exported it to publisher so that I could print it out and put it on a tee shirt. After I put it on the tee shirt, I went back to publisher and added in a thought bubble (ass seen above).
